Please join us on Teams on Monday 8th December (4-4.45pm) for our next online training session where we will be exploring a new relationships, sex and health education (RSHE) programme tailored for deaf young people.
We are delighted to welcome guest speakers Dolly Padalia, the Chief Executive Officer of School of Sexuality Education (SSE) and Ed Bradley, a Qualified Teacher of Deaf Children and Young People who works within the Sensory Team at Rochdale Council.
SSE is an award-winning charity that provides comprehensive RSHE programmes to schools, colleges, and universities throughout the country. Their age-appropriate and inclusive programmes cover subjects such as consent and sexual violence prevention, sexual health, and body-image.
This session offers an insight into SSE’s work and their pilot RSHE programme for QToDs, which has been developed with support from Ewing Foundation and our grant making partner Ovingean Hall Foundation. Ed has kindly agreed to share a case study of a deaf learner to whom they delivered RSHE and their experience of the pilot programme. The session will explore the impact of inclusive RSHE and future plans to support deaf education.
