Hats for hearing aids!

Do you struggle to keep hearings aids from falling off tiny ears? If so, Glue Ear Together, a small charity supported by our grant making partner Ovingdean Hall Foundation, may have a solution.

The charity is highlighting the benefits of hearing aid hats, which help a baby’s hearing aids to stay in place. The hats, which are made of soft, stretchy fabric and secured with Velcro, have been found to improve the use of hearing aids. One family shared that the hat had increased their baby’s use of hearing aids from three hours to an amazing eight hours each day. Find out more.

Glue Ear Together was founded in 2023 by Jen Royds, whose daughter has glue ear, and Ewing Foundation’s Education Advisor Katy Mitchell. The charity received a grant from Ovingdean Hall Foundation in 2023 to fund their website, which includes information about glue ear, its causes, impact and management. Katy has also produced two Ewing Foundation resources about glue ear: Hearing to Succeed and Achieve and Listening to Learn.
