World Hearing Day 2024

Sunday 3rd March is World Hearing Day!

Led by the World Health Organisation (WHO), this global advocacy event calls for action to address hearing loss and related issues. Its aim is to raise awareness of hearing loss and promote hearing care across the world.

The theme for 2024 is: ‘Changing mindsets. Let’s make ear and hearing care a reality for all!’. WHO describe this year’s focus as, overcoming the challenges posed by societal misperceptions and stigmatizing mindsets through awareness-raising and information-sharing, targeted at the public and health care providers.’ Find out more about this year’s theme and its key messages.

Here at the Ewing Foundation, our team of education and technology specialists is committed to supporting deaf children and young people and their teachers on World Hearing Day and throughout the year. We have been carrying out this much-needed work since 1952.

We have a wealth of free resources and free online learning opportunities, as well as a bespoke training offer, and a conference for deaf education professionals in June.

Our charity partner Ovingdean Hall Foundation also provides opportunities by making grants to charities and professionals supporting deaf children and young people. These include Scholarships for teachers who would like to train to become Qualified Teachers of Deaf Children and Young People.
