Train to become a Qualified Teacher of the Deaf

Would you like to help deaf children and young people learn and achieve at school?

The British Association of Teachers of the Deaf (BATOD) is offering five scholarships for teachers to train to become Qualified Teachers of the Deaf (QToDs).

The Con Powell Memorial Scholarships, named after BATOD’s first President and Ewing Foundation’s first Chief Executive Officer, are aimed at teachers whose Local Authority or school is not obliged to support them financially. Scholars will also be supported in their studies by our Ewing Foundation team of audiology and deaf education specialists.

The scholarships, which are funded by our partner Ovingdean Hall Foundation, are now open until 7 April 2023.

Update April 2023: The Scholarships 2023 have now closed. They will re-open in January 2024.
